DCE Family Life & Student Ministry

While I was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and grew up all over the world, Texas IS HOME! My husband and young son are always up to something good with me and we never seem to have a dull moment. I am a Longhorn from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Speech Communication. I am also a graduate from Concordia University in Seward, NE, with a Master’s in Parish Education and Director of Christian Education Specialist certification. I hold a Doctor of Ministry degree in Leadership of Spiritual Formation from George Fox Seminary in Portland, OR. Outside of family and youth ministry, I enjoy music, reading, fishing, art work and much more. I am thankful for the opportunities God has given me in the past 20 years to serve in congregations and at Concordia University of Texas, for I feel my life has been enriched through many wonderful relationships I experienced in these settings. I am so blessed to serve at Grace, starting in 2013. We minister in many unique ways to and actually with our community! My heart is to love and live Jesus and teach others to do the same. That is exactly what I get to do at Grace in a community striving to share the hope of Christ with others. It is a joy to serve with my team and be in the lives of others!

Business Manager

As a native of the Central Texas area, I grew up in Marlin and later moved to Temple where I attended Temple College and pursued a career in business. As a graduate of the Land Title School of Texas and as a professional in the land title insurance industry for 15 years, I became a leader in my company and my community. While Vice-President and Manager of a land title insurance company I oversaw budgeting, personnel, and marketing, as well as performing escrow and closing processes for all types of real estate transactions. Following God’s plan and direction in my life has always been important to me. When I was lead to become the Church Administrator for Immanuel Lutheran Church in Temple, I accepted the many challenges ahead of me with confidence knowing that God had placed me there. For 15 years I served as the congregation’s principle business affairs coordinator. Among my duties, I oversaw the budgeting process, and produced all financial reports for the congregation. I also acted as the financial liaison for the church, its parochial school, and the community. When I moved to Arlington in 2008, I felt God led me to Grace Lutheran Church and School. At Grace, I was welcomed by warm and caring servants whose love for the Lord and Savior can be seen in how they reflect the love that Jesus has for all people. Now, as Grace Lutheran Church’s Business Manager, I oversee the financial management for the congregation and work with other ministry team members, church leadership and members to turn vision into results. With passion, I enjoy and embrace using my God-given gifts to support this ministry within our community and beyond.

Office Manager

Born and raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas, I am an avid Razorback fan and thoroughly enjoy God's creation of beautiful mountains and lakes! I have spent many hours fishing and skiing on Beaver, Ouachita, and Tenkiller Lakes in Arkansas and Oklahoma. Golf is also a sport I have enjoyed since my teen years, playing on our high school team and with women's groups in Arkansas and Texas. I enjoy playing the piano and listening to music, mostly contemporary Christian and 50's, 60's, 70's! Over the years I have worn "lots of hats" from being a stay-at-home mom to enjoying a variety of career opportunities that utilized my gifts and talents given to me by God. Our family moved to Arlington in June 1977, and the first thing we did was join Grace Lutheran Church! I was asked to work in the Mother's Day Out program and served for six years before starting Celebration Station, a party store and an event planning and decorating business, from 1985 - 2017. After closing the store part of our business, I was asked to return to the staff at Grace as Director of Parish Education and Wedding Coordinator. A few years later I was lured away for the opportunity to work for Marvel Comics, then American Airlines. In 1996 I felt God calling me to a career with Mary Kay Cosmetics and have had a very successful 21 year career as a consultant and Sr. Sales Director. In 2004 God made it clear that He was calling me back to Grace as the Director of Ministry Involvement to assimilate members and to work closely with them to develop the Women's, Men's, Greeter, and Stephen Ministries. It has been my pleasure to work on two Capital Campaign teams at Grace where the members have stepped out in faith to give above and beyond to provide funds for needed improvements to our church facilities and starting "God's Grip on Grace" Scholarship Golf Tournament in 2008, which has provided thousands of dollars to help children have a quality education in a Christian environment. In 2009 I was asked to be the Office Manager and Pastor's "right arm", which is my current position at Grace.

DCE - Outreach Ministries

I wasn’t born in Texas, but my parents made sure we got here as fast as we could when I was six years old. I grew up in Euless, Texas where you could typically find me at our neighborhood swimming pool during the summer, or at youth group any given evening. I graduated from Trinity High School in 2010 and pursued my Bachelor’s degree in Religious Education from Concordia University Texas. WOOSH!!! I reached my goal and graduated with my degree in 2014 and came to Grace to pursue my Director of Christian Education certification through the LCMS. Here at Grace Lutheran Church, I serve in an outreach position that has challenged me to step out of my comfort zone and grow in ministry in new and unexpected ways. It’s exciting to see the work that God is doing in and through Arlington, Texas. Outside of my ministry at Grace, you’ll probably find me having a cup of coffee with someone, watching a Texas Rangers baseball game, hosting an online gaming session with friends and family, or cheering on the Channel 4 hockey team at the Euless Dr. Pepper Star center. No matter if it’s during “work hours” or in my personal life, I am always looking for ways to bring the hope of Christ to everyone I interact with.
